Cocaine, a controversial US energy drink, containing 350per cent more caffeine than Red Bull, is preparing its UK launch, according to a new report.

The appearance on the British market of the drink is set to spark a storm of protest in the wake of soaring fears over the effects on young drinkers of Red Bull.

Trade magazine the Morning Advertiser said that it had been told by sources from the newly-formed company Ocke Cokey that the high-caffeine stimulant drink Cocaine, made from guarana and containing 750 milligrams of taurine, will be available in both the on and off-trade in the UK this summer.

The new product will be rolled out in red 8.4oz cans with the words “Cut Cocaine” spelled out in a white granular substance.

Sources told the Morning Advertiser: “It is going to create controversy, but that’s the beauty of this name - everyone that objects to it is going to be selling my product.

“You’ve got products like the perfumes 'Charlie’ and 'Opium’ and they’re fine.”

The US version of the Cocaine drink contained wasabi and cinnamon to “numb the throat to simulate the effect of taking cocaine”.

The US brand, which used the tagline “the legal alternative”, was relaunched by Redux Beverages in February following complaints from the Food and Drug Administration last year over its purported health benefits.

Last year, Red Bull sold 3.5 billion cans and bottles in 140 countries.

It is popular among students, nightclubbers, workers and drivers attempting to say awake for long periods but has been banned in a number of countries amid fears it could cause an increase in blood pressure.

Last month, a school has banned Red Bull after staff reported a rise in bad behaviour by students who had consumed the high-energy drink.

Haha i was reading about that in the Saturday papers...Definatly will cause alot of attention in a negative sort of way.
I don't approve of the name, of all the names they could have picked, it had to be that done didn't it...

Let me save you UK niggas some trouble.

1. Get a Red Bull
2. Pour a shitload of black pepper into it
3. Take $2......1 Euro....whatever....and give it away to someone

That's the exact equivalent of Cocaine energy drink.
