Damani Interview: Dr Dre to Produce on Westurn Union album?!!

Lyay.net recently got the chance to sit down with one third of the Westurn Union: Damani. We talked a bit about his solo career, the Westurn Union, The state of the West Coast and other issues. One big surprise is that Damani talked about the possibility of Dr Dre appearing on the Westurn Union album (It’s in part two). I'll believe it when I hear it but the possibility alone sounds TIGHT.

It could happen.  Dre has put his stamp of approval on Soopafly by putting him on "The Wash" soundtrack.  Dre knows Soopafly is the leader of the westcoast movement right now and is very talented.  Hopefully it happens....but, we can't have too many outside producers on the album.  It needs to be almost all Soopafly production.  Say there are 16 tracks on the album, that would mean Dre's beat would have to be better than 16 of Soopafly's beats in order to make the cut.  I don't like Dre's chances there.

This dude has been smokin too much! in your dreams! dre beat would make a project like this but it wont happen so who cares about specultion. WU with Dr. Dre not gonna happen.

my only concern about a WU album with a Dre beat is that they'll have to "wait" for dre and the album wont be able to drop on the release date given which is Aug 19

would be very good for sales if dre really ended up givin a track to western union, probably wont happen though.. but he had the intro on eastsidaz first album so really, why not? dre should promote this, it's a coast matter..

Aug. 19th??? No way!  That's my birthday, I swear on everything!!  There's something in the stars that Soopafly picked that day to release the Westurn Union CD. 

First I pick my forum name to be "Soopafly DPGC" back in 2002, then, 6 years later, the real Soopafly joins the forums and picks his name to be Soopafly dpgc, without any knowledge that I had the same name and that I'm a huge fan.  And now he unknowingly picks my birthday to release the Westurn Union CD.  Man, our connection is much more than just artist-fan....it's something spiritual right there.
