FERGIE: I'LL MAKE RON'S LIFE HELL
« on: July 12, 2008, 11:03:51 AM »
SIR ALEX FERGUSON is determined to make life hell for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Manchester United boss is incensed at the winger’s latest backhanded attempt to force a move to Real Madrid.
Ronaldo admitted he felt like “a slave” on Thursday and strongly hinted once again that he wants to join the Spanish giants.
Fergie has not spoken to his wantaway star for the last two months and intends to continue giving Ronaldo the cold shoulder until the club return from their pre-season tour to South Africa on July 28.

United fly out next Thursday, with Ronaldo staying behind to recover from ankle surgery. The Portuguese star could be out of action for 12 weeks and is currently in Lisbon recovering. However, Ferguson will show him who’s boss by ordering him to return to Manchester after he checks in with the specialist on August 2, so he can be kept under the supervision of United’s own medical team. And stubborn Ferguson is now planning to wreck any chance of Ronaldo featuring for Real in the Champions League next season by playing him as soon as he is fit in Europe, which would cup-tie Ronaldo and prevent Real from fielding him if he joins them.

United’s pre-season preparations have been completely overshadowed by the saga surrounding the star.
They face Aberdeen today in a friendly to mark the 25th anniversary of Ferguson leading the Dons to the European Cup Winners’ Cup – against Real Madrid. But his bad mood won’t be helped by the absence of right-hand man Carlos Queiroz, who was yesterday confirmed as boss of Portugal. Queiroz said: “I am very proud and honoured to be able to come back and serve my country. It is a very special challenge and a position that any professional would want.
“I also want to thank Manchester United for our established agreement that I could return to Portugal if the opportunity materialised.”
