Jay-Z CANNOT compete with that song, nothing Jay has ever recorded is as powerful/deep/meaningful/lyrical etc as that one song. "One Mic" is a VERY important song, not only for Nas but for the whole hip-hop culture which is falling apart in terms of quality compared to a few years ago, this song represents everything hip-hop should be about, this song basically embaresses all the 'bling bling' orientated rappers out there including Jay-Z. Nas could give Jay the kick up the ass he needs, the kick that will make him make more records like "Reasonable Doubt".

Many Jay-Z songs are equally good, if not better... "Reasonable Doubt" shits all over "Stillmatic"... Jay-Z's lyrical skill is untouchable, just listen to that album.. I agree "One Mic" was a good song... but you can't say Nas is a better rapper... do you want me to quote some lines from "Oochie Wally" ? ;D

it depends on what you want out of rap as a listener. if you wanna get all emotional and shyt sitting on ya sofa then go ahead listen to 1 mic all day.
i've heard some of jay-z's new unreleased tracks and all i can say is POW. the flow POW. the lyrics POW. the production POW. get the song 'goodmorning america' = POW.
it looks like jigga will definately be confirmed king when the blueprint 2 drops.

worse still. quote some lines from 'the general remix'. nas drops arguably one of the worse verses ever. he gets outshined on his own song by fat joe and cassidy - thats blasphemy.
