Okay it seems Sccit, and I guess some other producers on this board, have found it okay to sample sounds st8 from Dre beats and other artists too I guess. I mean literally rip sounds right out of the actual beat (as opposed to using the same or similar sound from a sample disc or a module or sampler). What is everyones thoughts on this???

I think it's wack, not only is it illegal, but it's the principal of the thing: DONT SAMPLE FROM MODERN ARTISTS, ESPECIALLY FROM HIP-HOP WHEN UR MAKING HIP-HOP BEATS!

U call it sampling, like Im actually ripping melodies...Let me rephrase what your saying...What I'm doing is using the same sounds as Dre (Taken straight from a Dre track)...But however, I create my own melodies, and all that with the Dre-sounds...It's not sampling...Now tell me if there's something wrong with that?

ur using the same sounds ripped str8 from the track as opposed to the disc... how do u know if those instruments or samples are tweaked or not, which they are... they're tweaked to his liking. Not only that, what you call sounds are sometimes chords or a combination of different sounds that sound like one!

oh of course you could never sell a beat sampling that shit... but i would even be embarrased to make beats and give myself credit and post them on this site, he doesn't see anything wrong with it. He looks at it as a way of making beats, not experimenting. I'm all for experimenting.
