Trying to stay "awake"

Trying to stay "awake",
in the fullness of the word,
People staring at me,
part of me wishing,
I could just blend into the wall,
Taxpayers paying me,
but really I don't do shit,
people staring at me,
trying to act busy,
but the more I act,
the more they "see",
the best thing to do is hide,
the best thing to do is "sleep"
but I saw this movie...
it was called "waking life"
it said...
one day you won't be able to "wake up"
So try to wake up while you can,
so im trying to stay "awake"
but like the main character in the movie...
I keep waking from one nightmare to the next,
or if it was really like the movie...
I would say one "dream" to the next,
because in the movie people only talk of their life philosophy,
but in my reality people only talk of "superficiality"
like the how long the line was when they went to get their lunch,
or how funny it was the other night at work,
or whatever whatever maybe its an inside joke,
...just trying to say "woke".
