DubCNN + DJ R-Tistic = U.S.C. Volume One: Universal Sounds of California (Introduced by Murs)




What's going on? I have finished the first "official" mixtape for everyone, and I have posted the download link right here. This is a "true" mixtape, in which every song was mixed in using my Technics 1200's and not just songs thrown together as a compilation. There are no exclusives, but there are a few lesser known and harder to find tracks. The purpose is just to have a clean mix for everyone to listen to in mix show style.

The title, "U.S.C. Volume One - Universal Sounds of California" represents what I aim to do on it. I tried to show as many sides of California as possible by mixing it up with older and newer artists, as well as Bay and L.A. artists. I didn't put anything that was "banged out" on it, and the vibe of it all is more laid back and hype versus being thugged out. I have tags throughout, but made sure to do them in moderation. It's very necessary to have them, especially as a DJ, but I know they can be annoying. However...just as Nate says on his tags, "no horns, gunshots, no bombs, and no damn sirens! We already got enough of that bullshit out here in these streets!"

As always....you all are the first to hear it! When it goes to the main page, I'll probably upload it using separate tracks.

Shoutout to all the DJ's out here... DJ Johnny Blaze, DJ.THIRRZTY, DJ Coma, DJ Age, DJ Raze One, So Prup DJs, DJ Goon-E, DJ Haze, DJ Qwess, DJ Damu, and anybody I didn't mention. It's really not enough of us out there doing it, so keep pushin ya product! Unlike most...I don't mind sharing songs, because I feel a lot of tracks need to get heard by everyone, versus us focusing on "exclusive" tracks that nobody else has, especially if it never gets released commercially. The artists need our support, especially with stations like KDay/The Beat only playing West Coast music during the weekends now.
