possible... but wouldn't people still do it regardless?

Don't think so. Maybe if there was some 1960s tension going on but there isn't. 

Teddy Roosevelt:
I see no reason why there would be. Like Javii said, there is not enough racial tension like back in the day so there wouldn't be any real motivation. Of course the reason of his assassination would also come into play. I doubt someone would kill Obama simply for being Black. Some greater economical/social/political issue would probably be the cause.
