MTV Africa Music Awards Teams Up With The Game For Tour

MTV Base is pulling out all the stops in an effort to promote their inaugural MTV Africa Music Awards - the Mamas.

This includes a four-country tour featuring The Game who is the world’s reigning hip-hop king. The Game and the Road To Mama concert tour will perform in the DRC, SA, Kenya and Nigeria. Different acts will perform in each country.

The concerts are scheduled to take place two weeks before the Mamas. It starts on November 11 in Kinshasa before moving to SA on November 13.

The rapper will play the Standard Bank Arena alongside top SA acts The Parlotones, HHP, Cassette and Loyiso. These artists are nominated for a Mama, as is The Game.

The Parlotones get the nod for Best Group and Best Alternative. HHP competes against The Game in Best Hip Hop and is also nominated for Best Male and Artist of the Year. Cassette is nominated for Best Live Performer and Loyiso for Best R’nB.

The Game is currently riding high with his third album, L.A.X with the single, My Life, featuring Lil’ Wayne, burning the airwaves. So far the combined sales for his first two albums are already in excess of 7-million units globally.

The concert moves to Nairobi, Kenya, on November 15 and ends on November 18 in Lagos, Nigeria.

Tickets for the SA leg went on sale yesterday for R150. They are available at Computicket, Shoprite stores and Standard Bank Arena.

The Mamas take place on Saturday, November 22, at The Velodrome in Abuja, Nigeria, and will be broadcast on MTV Base and other partner networks in Africa.
