Either way it produces CO2, but theirs a "cleaner" way to do it, scrubbing out all the extra crap like SO2, nitroxides, and reduce the CO2 emissions overall. Clean coal isn't 100% clean, but many plants across the world use the technology.
Okay, say we need to ween ourselves off of coal. Replacing the power we get from coal would cost trillions, whether we go with solar, natural gas, or nuclear energy. What should we do as a nation under the current financial problems that will not bankrupt us? Obviously a renewable source would be more feasible so we don't have to rely on foreign nations for our power.

That's what I'm worried about.
