the Black Bruce Willis discussion thread
« on: December 21, 2008, 07:23:43 AM »

originally, this was supposed to be a hardcore album (according to Erotic).
then Erotic decided to take a different direction.
a couple of months ago i already had the opportunity to preview a few tracks:

Checked them quick;
Play with them;
Whatīs up with this track  :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
His flow on this is ehhhhh  :-X :-X :-X
The beat is also a little corny  :-X
Iīm sure Luna will love this one though  ;)
1/5

a little corny?   :laugh: ;)

Mr.Murderer;
Heavy guitars,some gangster shit.
The beat us tight too,a mix between "Natural Born Killaz" and "Ski & Dre"..... but not as good.  :P :laugh:
3/5

do you think it's a bit repititive too?

Wait a minute;
Dope beat,love the synth.... the hook is eehhhh  :P
So a new hook,get some other rappers featured... this one might work  :P
But right now itīs just a dope beat and synth with subpar vocals and a wak hook.  :P
2.5/5

you're being way too kind  :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: ;)

My girl;
Dope beat,the hook works.... the lyrics fit the track,but again as a rapper Erotic comes short.
So he might as get another rapper to perform his lyrics.  :P ;) :laugh:
Another one Iīm sure Luna will like  ;)
3/5
i see your point.

by the way, when i look at the info of each track on E's myspace i think that all 6 tracks are leftovers  ;)

ok,thanx for the info  ;)
...and hopefully the tracks on his albums is a little better because honestly the tracks was average (pluss - minus  ;))

yeah; the fact that those tracks were all once considered to be on the album leads me to the conclusion that E has no proper direction for the album  :-\

when looking back now,after having listened to the album a couple of times, it's safe to say that the final result is not even nearly as bad as i first predicted.
we still got our fair share of hardcore stuff: Anatomyovamurder, Mr. Murderer, b4 i'm out, Serial Killer, Mindovalunatic, G-None Rilla, Live By The Gun, U Need Dat, Payback.
and even some of the "lighter" songs are on point: Black With No Money, Lesbian Luv Affair(cool drum sounds by the way!), My Girl.
Play wit' it and Wait a minute don't belong on the album though, imo. i'm sure Erotic had his reasons for putting those songs on there, but i think he shouldn't be doing this stuff.

anyway, Erotic proved himself as a performer and a writer on the album.
sure, he may not a top 10 list, but i didn't get the "hey, that's a producer trying to rap" impression either.
ok, he ain't new to this, but this is the first time he carried pretty much the whole album.
i really hope Erotic goes 100% hardcore next time though; he has the perfect vocals for it  8)

album rating: 7/10

4 out of 5
-2 Mr. Murderer
A hardcore track,with some heavy guitars.

4 out 5
-4 Mind Of A Lunatic
Tight,LOVE the pan flute.....
4.5 out of 5
-5 Play With It
ehhhhhhh  :-X no rating
-6 Interlube
Some fun shit,if it's real... it's a memory. If not it's a little corny.  :P no rating
-7 Black With No Money (feat. Christi B.)
Tight,dope beat and lyrics.
4.2 out of 5
-8 G-None Reala (feat. Six2, El Dog, & Nina Ross)
Can't go wrong with 6-2,El-Dog and Erotic on the beat. Shit is tight
4.5 out of 5
-9 Music And Me
Tight beat and storytelling rap,but the hook is ehhhh  :P
3 out of 5
-10 Lesbian Love Affair
Tight beat (love the parts on the 2nd verse),the hook is ehhhh and fucks up the track
2.5 out of 5
-11 Serial Killer
And yes,we're back to some hardcore. Piano,synth and 808 in other words gangster shit. This is how it should sound.
4.5 out of 5
-12 Live By The Gun

some laid back shit,nice..
3.5 out of 5
-17 My Girl
The beat,guitar,synth and the hook is nice,don't fit "lunatic murder concept",but by itself it works
3.5 out 5
-18 Payback (feat El Dog)
Ohhh well,I guess DOC will hear this now  :P.
It's a tight track (love the retro synth),but some of the words is a little harsh (go back to to smoking crack...... .....a handicapped rapper can't say shit  :P)
4 out of 5
-19 Don't Go Away (feat Verse)
ehhh no comment or rating  ;)
-20 Porno Star
Nice beat and guitar... a fun track,but again it don't fit. Nice instrumental outro  ;)
3 out of 5

Overall conclusion;
In my opinion he should have been a little stricter with the concept and selection of tracks,I'm sure there's a lot of cats that like those club and "porno" tracks...
He could have spread those tracks out on three albums,a club album,a "porno" album and a "lunatic murderer concept" album... but it is what is.

Overall rating;
3.7 out of 5

the conclusion is still up to date, but some tracks could have grown for Chad Vader so let's see  ;)

ok that's confusing; trying to be nice is equal to contradicting yourself?  ???  :laugh:

in rotation; (all tracks; 3.5 or higher)
-2 Mr. Murderer
-3 Before I'm Out
-4 Mind Of A Lunatic
-7 Black With No Money (feat. Christi B.)
-8 G-None Reala (feat. Six2, El Dog, & Nina Ross)
-11 Serial Killer
-12 Live By The Gun
-15 U Need That (feat. El Dog)
-16 No Place (feat. Money Waters)
-18 Payback (feat El Dog)

10 out of 19 tracks is about half..... that should equal 2.75 out of 5 as you said  ;).
But I like to add 0.25 anyway,yes to be nice......  :P contraticting or not  :P,but I don't like to remember this album as weak  :P :laugh:
So 3 out of 5 (rating = average).  ;) thatīs it  ;)

oh you mean it like that; overall rating, my bad :P
i guess 2 things got mixed up.

anyway 6/10 sounds fair to me, but that means your new rating is one point lower than the original one, as i remember that you first gave it a 7/10  ;)

yep... everything canīt be a classic.  ;)

correction: a drop of more than one point  ;)

anyway, yeah some tracks must not have had much replay value for you then  ;)
