November 12, 2008 - Microsoft announced today that Gears of War 2 sold over 2 million copies worldwide this past weekend. More than 20,000 retail locations spread across 20 countries opened shop at 12:01 AM last Friday, November 7 to celebrate the launch of Gears 2.

"We were so excited to launch Gears of War 2 on the same day all around the world, something virtually unheard of in the games business," said Cliff Bleszinski, the design director for Epic Games and mastermind behind Gears of War. "We wanted our fans, no matter where they live, to have a shared experience on day one, and that's exactly what's happened."

More than 1.5 million gamers logged on to Xbox Live over the weekend, collecting over 19 million Achievements while playing in excess of 15 million hours. Surprise, surprise, people love their Gears.

i played this shit a couple weeks ago at a friends house, we played story mode and it was fun. i didnt like the weak shotgun but overall i thought they did a good job improving thge game. yesterday i (tried to) play it online, what the fuck is wrong with it? my friends NAT or whatever as open and it still took like 15 minutes to get into a game. i have a 360 and i was definitely going to get this but with shitty online like that no way am i paying 60 bucks for a new story mode

the only bad thing about this game is how long it takes to find a multiplayer game.. can sit there for 10-15mins on some nights

horde mode is a lot of fun

best to get into a private game so you don't disband and start again when all the team dies though...

just beat the campaign (got it for x-mas).

this game is SICK!

the campaign was just fun to play, the story was awesome.

did anyone watch all the credits? at the end of the credits Adam Fenix talks (hes apperently alive) & it sets up nicely for GOW3!
