Big Boi Blames Jive Records For Outkast Delays, "They Won't Let Us Out The Contract"

Outkast's Big Boi recently discussed the constant delays of his solo album and collaboration project with Andre 3000, citing Jive Records as the main reason behind wait.

Still aiming for a summer 2009 release, Big Boi claims the label has been reluctant to place urgency into releasing his solo debut.

"Jive Records, man," Boi said, whose contract was adopted by Jive after Arista dissolved its roster in 2004. "You know what goes with Jive? Shuckin' and jivin'. And the fans have been thinking it's me and Dre. You can't work on music for two-plus years and just give it to a label and they just f*ck it up...It's like I'm indie right now, but they won't let us out the contract. The Clipse said it best [on 'Mr. Me Too'] when they said 'they weren't playing fair at Jive.' They don't want to spend the money, but the music's gonna make its own way." (Rolling Stone)

They got enough money to produce music on their own,but i don't know for how long they are under contract with jive

Or if we talk about majors,ATLANTIC looks like the best label for the outkast

they aint never been good to ugk...

pimp-c n bun had problems with jive since day 1...

i mean why would pimp n bun-b goto rapalot for their solos...

ugk didnt have a problem with them the 1st 3 albums.. after rydin dirty.. and jay-z hooked up with em..thats when the problems started..

shit they had hell doing the dirty money album....n when they finally got on the same page..they had hell puttin that bitch out... kuz jive was tryin 2 water them down since they blew up wit big pimpin...wanted to cut pimp-c out of all the production or some shit..

n puttin timbaland on the boards...

1nce bun n pimp..got j.prince in they mix... jive started actin right...a lil bit too light kuz this is the last ugk album on jive since its the last album on their contract as a group..

outkast got fucked in the arista deal... thats why idlewild couldnt top speakerboxx/tlb....once la left the picture n it got somebody knew hands...they fucked up alot of kast shit...

all jive know how to produce is pop acts...e-40,mystikal,the clipse been exposin that jive 4 yrs....about that

only nigga eatin good on jive with no problems is chris brown...

outkast already established can go gold or platinum pretty easy..kuz of their fan base... n jive cant get that right
