Well I'd say deathrow has more classic albums under its belt and not just west coast classics. And their track record of quality releases has never been equalled.the first three projects from aftermath weren't that great and since then their batting about 500.

I'm not necessarily arguing with you on that point but I don't think enough time has passed in the case of most Aftermath releases to really tell. I think there is a lot more diversity to the Aftermath catalog. Like I said, it's all opinion. Time turns a lot of good albums into classics. Glaring flaws are often overlooked in favor of the nostalgia attached to an enjoyable album of yesteryear.

And album sales do hold some weight in the discussion. They aren't the be all - end all but the constant argument against The Big Bang's worth is its commercial failure. With the right marketing attached and better choice of singles, I think people would have seen it in a much different light but we'll never know. It does seem like a double standard though. If Aftermath sells triple-platinum, sales aren't everything but if they put out a solid project and it goes gold, it's an undisputable brick.

Myself personally I loved the big bang.It was a great album with only a few bad tracks.that timbaland produced track was terrible.I love my bitch shouldn't have been a single and shouldn't have been on the album. However a gold selling album that had what 4 or 5 videos with tons of hype and took how many years to create can be considered a failure from a commercial stand point.I gave the firm album another listen recently and for the first 4 or 5 songs its great then the next 6 or 7 songs are just terrible.the slim shady lp was good not great and mm was a classic.eminem show was decent with encore was an abortion.2001 I feel is a bit overrated.Yes it does have some amazing songs but it has a lot of mediocre ones as well and doesn't deserve a classic rating.
