Black Kent the new french revelation
« on: April 21, 2009, 04:16:42 AM »

Needless to say history is in the making, Black kent will walk down a path no french rapper as ever done so far as he is gearing up for his first US album realease slated to drop by the end of the year  "Yes I Kent".

Indeed, since his childhood music has been his way to express things to escape all the trials and tribulations he has been throught with the civil war in his native country Ivory coast and his globe-trotting ways.

Having the privilege to break the language barriere is not given to everyone and Black kent is well aware of the gift he has and therefore plans on sharing his experience, culture, likes and dislikes with the world throughout his first album.

His knowledge on the hip hop field is tremendous as he grew up under the rhymes of the greatest and as a result he is the type of MC that will distinguish himself with a sharp flow, great concept songs, fascinating, story telling lyrics and punchlines to rock the crowd.
There is a saying that goes "nothing ventured, nothing gain". Black kent has nothing to loose and at the end of the day everything to win.
Come what may...

At 22 years old, Black kent is already one of the most promising MC's of his generation. As an incontrovertible member of his crew 99 Pro-G, the development of his career which is quite unusual and the easiness he has as far as lyrical abilities goes, made his name ring bells pretty fast.

Globe-trotter regardless of his will, Black kent was born in Ivory Coast (Africa) but in 99,had to run away from his country due to the national conflicts that occured. The latter and his family found peace in east africa Kenya where he really came to realise he was gifted when it comes to rap music. He then started rhyming along C4 a close friend he met at the time and formed the group RSP. After 3 years of activity, Black kent acquired a credible reputation amongst his local peers and had to migrate once again but this time in the south of france (Bordeaux) in order to finish his studies.

This is the place where things started to be cristal clear he was a diamond in the rough, as he was really distinguishing himself in his new found crew 99 Pro-G he joined in 2005 to put out a mixtape "Hip Hop ressurection" still in stores to date in France.
It is with the same drive Black kent  capitalized on the coming of his longtime friend and rapper C4 on the french territory  to form the rap group "the franchise" pretty active between Bordeaux and Paris.

Homesick of his country, He decided in summer 2006 to put out an album custom made for his Ivorian nation with fellow Sagon (member of 99 pro G) titled Djafoul Koncept. The album saw the day in August 2007 in Abidjan and was described as classic on the Ivorian Hip hop's scale.(For any information go to www.djafoulkoncept.com)

Several showcases and countless collaborations later, still armed with his talent and the incredible work of his agent and longtime friend Curtis "Black.D", he got the chance to encounter influencial people in the music business such as Dj battle (La fouine, Joey Star, Disiz, Rocafella, Def jam, The Source...) with whom he worked on the mixtape "Back by popular demand vol.1" which he distributed via the viral network on free download. The mixtape exteriorized his hidden talent as it shows once again how fluent and skillful he is US rap wise and on that note he will gain the moniker of "the best rapper overseas".

Black kent is gearing up to reach higher levels with his first official mixtape with a national release called "Le Scalpel vol 1" hosted by the infamous DJ battle who is very called upon since its success. This LP is an all out act of lyrical performance that will certainly not leave the public unconcerned and will for sure send his competitors back in the studio...

He also appeared on Tyron carter's street album (M to the P records/Sony BMG) who is M.Pokora's artist and Elysha's LP (Rnb Artist signed to Barclay). Black kent gave back the love to his city by making the latter more visible on the french scene as being the main attention on a local mixtape "33 s'exporte" which debuts with his classic freestyle that gave him recognition.
Not to forget his appearance on french's veteran and confirmed artist Driver's LP tiltled "Self defense" who really brought curiosity from the music business actors(journalists etc..), and his penning abilities he layed on the track "i loved you" interpreted by biggest selling french Rnb artist M.pokora.

A sharp flow, punchlines that would make you press rewind and a ridiculously easy in english and french, this is what defines Black kent..No doubt he is certainly on an artistic point of view, one in a million and a page is being turned.
Lately he has been cosigned by american websites such as thisis50.com and worldstarhiphop.com who certainly got impressed by the new breed's work ethics. Black kent is definetly a player to watch in 2009.
