Illuminati 2G once again linked back up with Black Wall Street producer Nu Jerzey Devil for a exclusive interview. We discuss his mixtape, Art Of The Devil, that dropped a couple months ago and the feedback he has recieved from it. He also talks about his upcoming EP in July, Heaven Or Hell and a possible mixtape with the Game. Check it out.

Illuminati 2G is here with Nu Jerzey Devil how's it going?

Aww man I am over here chilling man, just back in LA. Enjoying this west coast weather and all that ya know.

Alright since your last interview with us, you dropped the mixtape Art Of The Devil. How has the response been for the mixtape?

It been great, this is my first time dropping anything as a solo artist so I went in with my eyes open and went in. I dropped something crazy and people have been loving the material, we got a good response from it. I am right back in the studio working on some more music.

What was people's first reaction when you announced that your were going to rap? Were people surprised by it? I know for a long time you were just doing beats and production so what was people's reaction when you decided you were going to do the solo thing as a rapper?

I mean most people do not like when a producer makes that transition to a rapper. Alot of people tell producers oh you should stick to production and you should not do rap and alot of producers have tried it and failed. But at the end of the day you have to go with your gut instinct and put your heart into it and you have to prove everyone wrong. It's a hard thing for a producer to do the rapping thing at times but if you have that vibe and swag about you, nothing should hold you back and that is what I plan to do.

You dropped the single Different Girls with Lil Wayne, do you have a time frame set for doing a video with that song?

Right now that is the whole thing that we are waiting on right now. We are trying to schedule that out, Wayne has that crazy schedule so it is kind of hard to catch him. With his tour and everything and we also did not want to come in conflict with his rock n roll album but they have pushed that back indefinitely so we will not have any problems with that. Hopefully we can get it started and done within the next few weeks.

You had mentioned also that you are working with The Game for both of you to do a duo mixtape together. How did that idea come about for you guys?

It is pretty much us being us. We both Black Wall Street, both been together since day one, and it is something that the people want to see. My first mixtape I did not put him on there because everybody was expecting it. Everyone was expecting Nu Jerzey Devil and Game all over the mixtape and I just did not want to go that route. This time around when we go back in, I definitely give the people what they want and expect from us. But for me, this being by first time out, I wanted to give them Jerz.

You also have a EP dropping entitled Heaven Or Hell tell me a little bit about it.

It is pretty much me going deep into my soul and the title is pretty much what it is man, heaven or hell. Just the good and the bad times and it is my lifeline in a few songs, about 8 songs, and to just give people a idea of what to expect from Nu Jerzey Devil from a album format and aspect. You got your mixtape and you are free to do whatever on that, EP is more structured and professional. I went deeper into my lyrics and the beats are crazy and the concepts are dope. It is me going more in depth with the music.

The EP is a warmup for your album, The Devil's Playground. This there any details that you can give about the album?

We are going to drop Devil's Playground first quarter of 2010. But that is going to be something crazy. That is going to be my first time dropping a real album, of course I got the EP and the mixtapes, but the album is totally different so I am definitely giving my all and going all the way in. It is going to be a crazy concept album. I got some features on there, Fat Joe, The Game, Lil Wayne, Raheem Devaughn. With production by Cool N Dre, Scott Storch, myself, and my own production team. I have a new producer by the name of Droon so we are going to keep it all in house and keep it going.

Being that you are from the east coast, what do you find musically is the biggest difference in the music and the whole hip hop scene from the east coast now that you are out on the west coast?

East coast there is alot of competition. If you live in New York you can live in a building and have 40 rappers and 20 producers all putting in work from that same building. Definitely alot more competition and they go hard on you in New York. The vibe is way different, New York is more gritty rap, I feel that there are more lyricists. LA is more laid back, people like to party more. Of course you got your gangsta music and New York it is more of a hustle thing. Out here it is more laid back, party, you get high and do you and just enjoy life. I got the best of both worlds and I am implementing both in my album and in my work and my music so it is going to be for everybody.

Are there any other projects on Black Wall Street that you are currently working on that is set to come out soon?

Well we started Game's new album and we went into the studio for the first time recently and we are going to get into that project. That is probably going to be the next thing out. We also have a click called Goon Squad, that is going to be the NWA of Black Wall Street. We are going in on that so people should look out for a compilation to drop on that.

Out of all the work you have done with Game, do you have a personal favorite track or mixtape that you have worked with him on? And also why would you say it is your favorite.

Umm yeah I would probably have to say, it was a song I did a long time ago with Game, it was called Put You Under. It was my first song that I ever did that actually was released. We did the song on site, I was in the studio and did the beat right there and The Game laid his vocals right there, killed it. Whoo Kid was also there and he took the song and took it to the next level, blasted it everywhere and put it in the streets. I got a huge response back from that record and that was when people started recognizing who I was and really took heed to my music.

Is there any other projects outside of Black Wall Street that we will be hearing your production on?

Well right now I am just focusing on me. So anything other than my solo projects, I do not want to put too much on my plate. I want to focus on what I am doing. I am also working on another mixtape entitled Mr. Red Carpet, so definitely check for that too. Just making sure my s**t is all the day 100 ya know. I do not want to bring anything other than classic material to the table.

Do you have any upcoming shows or tour dates coming up that you would like to let the people know about?

I have alot of upcoming shows in LA, but people can check out my website for all the dates and all of that. www.jerZmusic.com, they can also check out my myspace, www.myspace.com/nujerzeydevil. I am going to have all my information on those sites, I am always promoting on there, so people can check it out and see what is going on with Jerz.

Well that is all the questions I have for you, appreciate you getting down for the interview. Is there any last words or shoutouts you want to get out there to the people?

Just shout out to Black Wall Street, SOBE Entertainment, and of course my upcoming label, Livelihood. Definitely check out the websites, www.therealbws.com, www.jerZmusic.com for all the updates and information.

Did you have a release date set for the EP, Heaven Or Hell?

It is actually coming out in July. All the dates will be posted soon throughout the net.

Sounds good, appreciate the interview.

Thanks alot man.
