The next big female MC on the west coast...

Miss Marianna has loved performing in the limelight since she was just eight years old – the first time she performed in a talent show. Currently, the West Coast Hip-Hop scene is in desperate need for a new Femcee to take the game by its horns – enter Miss Marianna.

Once being criticized for owning a rhyme scheme which has “too much attitude”, Miss Marianna will not dumb down or take a step back for anybody. She is a fierce MC who is not afraid to show it, and frankly doesn’t care if her style is not your cup of tea – this is hardcore Hip-Hop at its finest.

Miss Marianna is no stranger to making something out of nothing, growing up in a poor tight-knitted family, Marianna performed in theatre, choir, pageants and poetry – yet she still could not find her niche. It wasn’t until High School was Marianna began taking part in Hip-Hop activities, eventually becoming a member of the female led Hip-Hop group, “Box a Chocolates.”

Now flying solo, Marianna is ready to do her own music, without being viewed as nothing more than a sex object. To consider her so, would be a crime to her educated rhyme pattern. Miss Marianna is a female MC who is ready to lead the nation of women in Hip-Hop.

Miss Marianna worked in radio, which provided her with the business aspect to be a successful artist, fully understanding the importance of radio spins and solid promotion. Always on her A-Game, Marianna understands she has to be ready to be challenged for being a female in a male dominated music genre; her often described “no nonsense work ethic” has helped her compete all the way up to this point.

This point truly defined is the upcoming debut album from Miss Marianna – promptly titled “First Lady.” Being released in July of 2009 through Uniquely Wrapp’d, a label ran by women for women – but there is no playtime involved, everything is professional and positive. Stay tuned for July 2009 when Miss Marianna becomes the “First Lady” of Hip-Hop.
