With no albums released how is he paying for studio time with the amount of free music he puts out? I know he has a legion of online fans but that doesn't translate to paying fans. I doubt he can fill up a concert. Dude must have one helluva 9 to 5.

Man I ask myself the same question....To never drop an album he's found some kind of way to keep eatin....i gotta respect that....but damn when is homie gonna drop an album and make that long range change.

I think DR kept him on a type of retainer-style/stipend in lieu of a traditional record deal. They probably gave him a check every month as part of his record deal so he didn't have to worry about them shelving him (at least in the financial sense). I bet he bought everything he has back then and now he just works to live. I seriously doubt he's living "comfortably" though, the dude has to have next to nothing in the bank. He's probably still in that same SL500 he had back like 6 years ago in that issue of DUBS.

And what evidence has brought you to this conclusion? Why would he go through that when he could get an advance like just about every other artist on any label? He said Aftermath had some interest in him as well so for him to go with Death Row, there must have been a pretty good deal on the table.

There is only a handful of rappers on the west getting paid for music. I know for a fact most of these guys live on very little. Most of them live with there parents or live with friends. They hold down part/full time jobs maybe slanging some green. Any rappers who take rap seriously don't slang hardcore drugs and they don't actively gang bang.

Crooked I maybe makes 20-35k a year from rap. Which equals $15 an hr.
