These are the first generation of rappers to grow old. Rap is still a relatively new genre of music. As it ages, so will the average age of your typical superstar rapper.
yeah but they dont quite have the talent the stars of other music genres have

The talent in rap is in the producers. Same is true for many other popular genres.

I think it's more funny that people look at 37 as being old. I'm all for cheering on the youngsters who break into the game in their early 20's but I hardly see 40 as being "too old to cut it". We definitely need the younger faces as well to keep the game fresh but in the same sentence, if someone didn't get on until they were 28 or 29 then why should they retire at 35?

The one thing that does kind of surprise me is the cats who are older or the same age as some of the more established artists. For instance, from a career perspective, you'd think of Nas as being older than Eminem because he got on about five years earlier but Em is actually older. Same with DMX and these other dudes.

Yeah a lot of people don't realize crooked is like 33 or 34 yrs old....I didn't know Bishop was that old....I figured he was like 25 or 26...deez'am.
