Hakeem is the best center ever

You have to throw Russell's championships out the window in this comparison. To me, you only use team accomplishments to determine greatness if you are comparing two players who are truly equal. Where you are at a stalemate as to who was actually the better player. Anyways, this could go on and on...

You have one large group basically, with Wilt, Kareem, Russell, Hakeem, Robinson, Ewing, and Shaq. If youre looking at all time, you cant compare them to eachother because the more recent centers would naturally be more athletic and typically better skillwise. But for their time, id Have to give the nod to either Wilt, or Kareem. Hakeem, Robinson, Ewing, and even Shaq all had eachother to go against. Which was great to see all these centers match up. But you were never able to say "THIS guy is the best center in the league for this era". With Wilt and Kareem you could say that, for their respective era, they were the best.

All of those centers were different. But Hakeem is probably the best all around center ever. Lots, of points, rebounds, assists, blocks & steals. I think he even had a few seasons where he reached triple digits in assists & steals. Very rare for centers.

as far as all around, youd give it to Robinson. How many years did he have where he was in the top 10 in the league in over 5 different categories? lol. Im a Spurs fan, and I wouldnt say Robinson is the best ever. But he's in the group of greats.
OG Hack Wilson:
i dont think David Robinson is even close to top 5!
Bill Russell
Wilt Chamberlain
Hakeem Olajuwan
Shaquille O'neal
Kareem Abdoul JAbbar
Tim Duncan (honorary center)
Moses Malone
Patrick Ewing
David Robinson
Dikembe Mutumbo (only because he built that hospital in africa lol)
