1988 is generally looked upon as the golden age in hip hop but I guess it's also a matter of personal taste.

i was born jan 13,1978 . so i can tell the hip hop golden era was not one year. hip hops golden era was 1989 to 1996. there was not just one golden year.i

because 20 years ago is still better then today . everything about 20 years ago is better then today . . the music of today sucks & so do most of new school fans.  the music , the tv ,the fans & the people were better 20 years ago then any the music , the tv ,the fans & the people from today or the last 10 years.
