Digged Banner's work more with him and Kamikaze on Crooked Lettaz, but nah not on a national scene do they have alot of big names. Underground scene is on the rise though.

umm Mississppi has a biiig underground rap scene. the one yall should check for the most is BOO DA BOSS PLAYA who is now signed to Young Jeezy's CTE..... comon jeezy fans and Lunatic, you be on the southern forums and don't know Boo is from Mississippi??? do your research on him, hella classic albums from the 90's. check out his debut "BOSS PLAYER" (1996) classic album, sounds hella west coast with a dope west coast flow at that time. also check his other albums:
"601" 1998-99
"a hustlas prayer" 200-001
"block 2 block" 2003 dope double cd with tracks ft. bonecrusher, lil flip & production from happy p.
his time is looong overdue... he signed with interscope in 2000/01 but left since they left him on the shelf, same thing happend with j records when he signed back around 03-04 but then left to sign with jeezy.
he was also signed to c-loc records as a member of the CONCENTRATION CAMP along with young bleed that had an album called DA HOLOCAUST that dropped around 98, check out the track "the sickest..." he's done alotta underground tracks in the southern underground scene.

other mississippi rappers to check for:
crooked lettaz "grey skies" (probably the best mississppi album ever...)
queen boyz "pack pushers" "getcha weight up" (signed to boo's one life one luv records..)
block boi (i forgot the name of his mixtape, but he has 2 out both with dope production from shawty redd(think tm101 beats..) with feats. from fiend, boo, bun b...)
Reese & Bigalow "pure uncut fire" "unfinished business", "r& b playa music" (2002 probably their best album w/bonecrusher & david banner plus THIS IS THE ALBUM WHERE BONECRUSHERS "NEVA SCARED" came from originally..... b4 he stole it and made it a major hit....
