people play proper football the rest of the world over because its 90% of the worlds sporting passion as well as being lucrative..plus your average player runs between 10miles to 13miles in an hour and a half game over a 60 game season...so to call into question athleticism is plain retarded...i mean true there not 300 pound odd monsters but what you expect?..football is strict on steroid use...and if we all got into chess that would be the dominate sport etc etc

you're the only reason Baseball isn't the biggest sport in the world; but even without a whole continent playing it, it's still "the talk" over Soccer anyday of the week. 8)

Your whole argument is a little weak. You admit the best part of American Football is that Americans are so good at it. You say if everyone else got into your sports, they'd be the biggest in the world too. Well with all the American TV distributed around the world, if it was gonna happen it would've happened by now.
The reason 'soccer' is so big in the world, is because it only requires a ball to start playing. It can be very simple or very complex, depending on how you play it. The nearest American equivalent is basketball.
Fuck it, this whole thread is pointless. Shit ain't gonna change. The 'soccer' World Cup will continue to be bigger than the Olympics.

i'll give you Africa but at least they have a baseball team.
Asia has good Soccer teams, but they still are bigger in Baseball, you just aren't up to date enough with it to realize it.
& i never said anything about South America i was talking about those small islands below Florida lol.
by the way just because "all it takes is a ball to play", doesn't make it a good sport; just because it accomidates 3rd World Countries who can only afford to play Soccer doesn't mean "geez, Soccer allows people of all incomes & living conditions to play; it has to be a great sport." :stupid:

Yeah its obvious soccer is the number one sport because it takes no money to play.That's the thing about hockey,its such an expensive game to play.That's why at least in my opinion you don't see many minorities playing. Its just too damn pricey
