Cities like New York and LA will always do well in this category because they have so many fans who are there more for the media event, rather then supporting the team. They are either celebrities, wannabe celebrities, or people who are looking for celebrities lol. The team is secondary. Franchises like Portland, etc are pretty impressive though.

It's just the bigger population will always make demand higher then average. Having such historic franchises also helps.

But they also drive up ticket prices. My point was more that going to a Laker/Knick game is sometimes more of a social thing then actually about people being legit fans. Those teams have legit fans too no doubt. But its almost a status thing for a lot of people/ business people, etc.
