Used to be a big fan of the comic books as a child. The trailers don't look that good, but i'll still check this out.

Yeah. I was a big fan of the comics, too. And they do get some things right (the way they were in the comics). Their handling of Destro, Snake Eyes, and Storm Shadow's back stories are all pretty accurate. That said, I can't really say that I thought it was a good movie. The action is top notch, and I did enjoy watching the film. But the dialogue was pretty overly-melodramatic, and at times, cheesey. I felt like I was watching the old cartoon, except there was a lot of PG-13 style death. So nothing was extremely bloody, but G.I. Joe and Cobra didn't always miss, when they were shooting at each other (as they did in the cartoon) either.
For anyone interested, if you want a really good adaptation, check out "G.I. Joe: Resolute." It's about an hour long animated movie that aired on Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim," a few months ago. It's a much better attempt than the live-action movie was. I'm sure it can be found online pretty easy.
