Most kids don't use proper form when they lift, start off too heavy and may damage their growth plates this way. thats the only way. otherwise there isnt much evidence to support weightlifting stunts your growth. hell i started lifting at 13/14 and i ended up at 6'1

Power lifting is all about starting off too heavy. Either way who cares. I'm no expert on growth stunting. Someone else said it fucks you up. I just took his word for it and said even if, a power lifter should be shorter anyway. How many tall man do you see in the olympics lifting 300 lbs over their head?

They start out too heavy without using proper form. I use to believe weightlifting stunted your growth as well, until I looked into a couple of years ago. Shorter people happen to excel at power lifting, they find their niche. Especially in the olympics where you are competing with the best of the best. It's the same reason you don't see 5'5 people playing in the NBA. I'm sure there are some shorter people who are great basketball players. But why have a 5'5 guy that can shoot 3's on your team when you can have a 6'3 guy that can do the same thing plus can defend better because of his height?
