Our 100th interview this year already, we have a special guest. Bobby Creekwater took time out to chop game with I2G. We discuss his latest EP, The Day It All Made Sense (download link: http://www.sendspace.com/file/k9m1xc) and what inspired the EP, upcoming projects, his relationship with Shady Records and much more so check it out.

Illuminati 2G is here with Bobby Creekwater, how's it going?

Pretty good man, how you doing?

Good, let's get right into it, you dropped the EP, The Day It All Made Sense about a month ago. What inspired the EP?

I was riding one day and I had a epiphany and alot of things like the music industry started to make sense to me. As far as the music was concerned, the previous project that I did, it felt like I was all over the place. Me and my engineer went in on this particular project and just created the sound and it just felt good and it was cohesive. That particular part of it made sense for me and there was alot of things going on in my life at the time also that did not make sense to me at one point, that started to make sense and I wanted to talk about it. The music and the subject matter. I just had a epiphany on both parts and that is where it came from.

Give the listeners a journey into the EP for those that have not listened to it. What are they in store for once they check it out?

Aww man they definitely in store for some great music.  Variety, and I am big on the art of storytelling so it is letting you in on the life of Bobby Creekwater a little bit more. It is definitely a journey with Bobby Creekwater. Pick up that project.

You announced a couple months ago that you lefted Shady Records and you are now independent. Looking back, what are your thoughts on breaking away from Shady Records and was it on good terms with Eminem and everyone at that camp?

Aww man it was definitely on good terms. Basically it was a business decision on my part, I had to make moves outside of that particular situation and he respected that in me. He had my back as far as the decision was concerned. There was no bad blood at all, me and Em are still good to this day. I can't take anything bad from that situation, I gained alot of information and knowledge from that situation and I am carrying it out to the world as far as BGOV is concerned and running that situation. My artistry from this point on, alot of the information I took from that, I can apply it now. It was definitely a good look and I appreciate it.

What would you say was the biggest lesson that you learned in working with Eminem, that you have been able to carry on with your musical career?

I would say work ethic. You gotta be a workaholic, first and foremost you gotta love what you do. Whatever that may be and it just so happens for me that it is this music. Considering that, you gotta work hard at it, around the clock man if you want to be the best that is.

Did you record alot of material at Shady Records and if so what will happen to that material that you recorded over there? Is there a possibility that you can release it?

The way it works is we sat down and figured out what we keep and what they keep. I recorded a gang of material, and retained most of it, so it worked out pretty cool. They definitely supported me and every way possible, even with the decisions, we keep it moving and he definitely supported it.

One artist that I dig that you work with alot is Stat Quo. Are you currently working on anything new songs together? Maybe a new project with him and you working together?

Yeah me and Stat Quo always working so yeah there will definitely be some future projects. I don't want to get into it in detail but there are definitely some future projects in the works with me and Stat. Right now he is working on Detox and I am working on a couple other things. The scheduling is a little difficult to get in the same place at the same time right now. Defintely look forward to more projects with me and Stat Quo.

That leads right into my next question, are you currently working on a mixtape or album or anything with BGOV? What do you have on deck that fans can be on the lookout for?

Well definitely Back To The Briefcase 2, I working on that right now and that will be out next week. Look for the single to be leaked soon, it's called Harder (http://www.sendspace.com/file/y6o1ip). It is not really the single, but it is one of the singles off of the project. I am putting the finishing touches on that right now. Probably then move on to the 3rd installment after that. Just be on the lookout for me in a city and state near you real soon.

Could you share any good memories that you have recording over at Shady Records or while recording The Re-Up that you could share with the people?

Oh yeah the comradarie man, it is a family type atmosphere. You don't feel like a employee, it is all family. We had alot of laughter and fun and it was all good and being in that particular space. That is something that I will always remember is that how we were family.

Do you have any upcoming shows or tour dates around the U.S. or around the world coming up for you that you want to let the people know about?

Yeah we are about to go out on a promo run, I do not have the dates and it is still being put together. We are about to be everywhere.

No problem. Is there any last words or shoutouts you want to get out there to the people?

I want to give a shout out to all the aspiring artists out there. Stay strong and it will go your way. Everything that you have right now is a big idea. It will take some time for others to catch on to it. I want to give a shoutout to my BGOV family, my man D Brown and just stay tuned.
