Nate Dogg really never was that much of an r&b singer... he's got a dope ass voice, cool flow and swagger like a muthafucka... But vocally, he really never could see cats like Danny Boy, TQ & LV (as far as "rap hook singers" go, obviously can't compare to "real" r&b singers like Saadiq, R. Kelly etc). Anyone who has seen Nate live knows what I'm talking about ;)

are you sure man ?

Regardless, G' Funk Classics shits all over any album released by any album released by any "hook singers".

Eh, I kinda get what you're saying but I disagree. I think first, the OP shouldn't have called Nate an RnB artist. He isn't. He's obviously not a rapper either. So what is he? A combination of both, unlike anyone else in the industry. A true RnB artist wouldn't sing about what he sings about, and wouldn't sing it in that way. A true rapper...well, that's  obvious.

So keeping in mind the above, BY DEFINITION, Nate shouldn't sound like a Danny Boy or R. Kelly. But his vocals are definitely just as good, IMO. Look at tracks like Deez Nuts or Indo Smoke. That's great singing. Period. I don't care what he's singing about.

Snoop Dogg, come on his ass is built for RnB. The smooth flow, the calming lyrics. If he song Chorus 4 the rest of his life, it would suit him.
