POLICE raided the Beverly Hills office of a record label owned by rap impresario Marion "Suge" Knight overnight, serving search warrants relating to a murder investigation.

Police said Knight – boss of Tha Row Records, formerly Death Row Records – was not a suspect. They would not say what murder was being investigated.
One person was arrested and several people were detained at Tha Row Records headquarters, authorities said. Several other arrests were made but authorities would not say where.
When asked if the raids had anything to do with the unsolved deaths of rap stars Tupac Shakur, the Notorious B.I.G. or Jam Master Jay, authorities said they could not confirm which cases were involved.
Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies, including a SWAT team, took part in the raid, Yates said.
Search warrants were also being served in Compton, Long Beach, Malibu and Las Vegas, Deputy Darren Harris said.
"We can confirm that these warrants are being served in and around Los Angeles are for evidence and arrests," Harris said. He said there were wanted persons involved and "some connection to Tha Row Records."
Arthur Barens, Knight's lawyer, said the locations of the searches included his client's past and present homes in the Los Angeles area and Las Vegas.
"We're not sure who the target is or what they're looking for," Barens. He added that he considered the raids "heavy handed" but his client was willing to cooperate with the investigation.
Knight was released from prison in August after serving five years for violating probation by getting into a fight in a Las Vegas hotel. The September 1996 altercation occurred just hours before rap star Shakur, 25, was killed in a drive-by shooting as he rode in Knight's car.
Christopher Wallace, 24, known as the Notorious B.I.G., was killed in March 1997 while sitting in his car outside party celebrating the Soul Train Music Awards in Los Angeles. Jason Mizell, 37, known as Jam Master Jay of Run DMC, was killed October 30 at a New York City recording studio.
Authorities were still searching Knight's offices early Thursday, Harris said. The streets around the company were closed during the morning rush hour. Broken glass could be seen at the front of the building but it was not immediately known if it was related to the raid.
