joining the Memphis Grizzlies.

Grizzlies sign former Pacers PG Tinsley

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP)—The Memphis Grizzlies signed point guard Jamaal Tinsley(notes) on Saturday, adding a player with a checkered past and a 1 1/2 -year layoff to their troubled team.

The Grizzlies announced the signing in a press release before their game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Tinsley was bought out by the Indiana Pacers in July, but has not played in the NBA since the middle of the 2007-08 season. He was still under contract with the Pacers, but told to stay away from the team last season.

In his seven seasons with Indiana, Tinsley averaged 10.4 points and seven assists. The assists average puts him seventh among active players.

looks like Memphis really likes other teams' leftovers.

he's still a liability in my opinion; but we'll have to wait and see.
maybe he'll accept coming off the bench more so than Iverson did.

tinsley has issues but is a really good point guard who when his in the right situation can average 15 and 8 with a bunch of steals. but the last two seasons his been out should of been his peak seasons, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out. but if he wants it and is prepared to work then this is a good signing.
