Kobe stats without Shaq are obviously better so I'm not sure what's your point  ? Kobe led a team in the Western Conf  to a 45-37 record with Smush Paker , Luke Walton and Kwame Brown in the starting 5 and fell to the number 2 seed in 7 games ...

I hope you are aware that the Eastern Conf in 07 was VERY weak (... the way the Spurs destroyed the Cavs confirmed it ... it was the easiest win in the NBA Finals history)

Last time I checked Kobe won a ring in 09 and it was without Shaq

my point is, when he didn't have help he didn't get the Finals, bottom line.

the "GREATEST PLAYER TO EVER TOUCH A BALL" couldn't get there alone; LeBron got there, scored his TEAMS final 32 points to beat a tough Piston team.

& yeah, if Kobe got injured last year that team was good enough to get to the Conference Finals.

this year with Ron? that team is almost good enough to WIN the Finals without Kobe lmao.

if the Cavs could just steal a great big man like Gasol, for like Daniel Gibson & Darnell Jackson, they would win too.

just look at what Boston did lol.

Ok so Kobe should have beaten the Spurs ( and the Suns/Mavs)  with Smush Paker , Luke Walton and Kwame Brown in the lineup ?

LOL ... The Spurs would have swept us  AND that's exactly what they did to that Cavs team ...

If you think we are almost good enough to win it all this year without Kobe ... I just don't know what to say  :-X... Nuggets, Spurs  Blazers, Celtics, Magic and Cavs  will easily beat  this Kobe less Lakers team in a 7 games series ....

stop acting like Lebron is playing with D Leaguers to defend his failures

^you have to stop acting like he is playing with Kobe's cast & continuing to call him a failure.

Odom doesn't even start for the Lakers & he would be the second best player on the Cavs lol.

know i speak in a lot of over-exaggeration; i know you can't win it all, but your team without Kobe could make the playoffs; the Cavs without LeBron would finish bottom 3 in the conference.

i am not trying to argue LeBron > Kobe here anyway, just pointing out that LeBron can't be called a failure & not allowed to be in the same conversation as MJ or Kobe the rest of his career if he doesn't win in Cleveland; because the support both MJ & Kobe have had while winning rings compared to LeBron, just doesn't compare lol.

here's the thing, you are comparing different situations. in cleveland, lebron is set to lead the team, but he has yet to get what he needs to win, and the little he does have he does not trust. but he was in a very weak eastern conference so it's possible for his team to get to the finals out the east with what he has. put the 2005 lakers in the east in 2007, and they get to the finals because of kobe. when kg went to the celtics, the game changed, but before that the east was too weak.

comparing kobe to lebron, right now it's not fair. kobe is way ahead of lebron, and his on pace to be the all time leading scorer, if he decides to play until his 40, i wouldn't count on it though. lebron has to get a supporting cast, and figure out how to win. he does not know how to change his game. his game is too simple, it's not made to win right now in the nba, it's made to sell tickets. but if he gets that jump shot going, and develops better on defense, you are talking about a scary player for years to come. until then, look for a laker repeat, and this time we are beating the celtics.

^LeBron is the youngest player to score *insert that number here*, wouldn't you say he is on his way on to scoring the most all time? lol

i'm not comparing them though, i'm just saying;

say lebron did get to the finals last year, i doubt we'd be having this conversation, cuz some one besides lebron would of stepped up. i feel like last years team was  better than this years (except for gettin moon) shaqs way too slow, i dont know how espn was sayin hes was in great shape.  the line was was much better and quicker with Z and varejo in the starting line up.

if shaq cant get it going offensively that wat was the point gettin him. defensively hes doin alright, from the last couple cav games ive seen.

lebron hands down is part of the 3rd best in the east conference, he might not have a josh smith, rashard lewis, or a paul pierce, but their definitely a FINALs contending team, even though i really dont see the cavs beating the overly stacked magic or celtics
