Rapper Coolio will replace DMX in the upcoming Alabama Pride mixed martial arts fight next month since the former Def Jam could not reach an agreement with the event's promoter.

According to Thunder Promotions, both camps could not work out an agreement.

    Thunder Productions tells TMZ they have signed Coolio to the upcoming celebrity boxing match scheduled to take place in Alabama next month. They tell us Coolio has been much easier to deal with and "he is going to take this seriously." X had previously agreed to the bout, but only on the condition he was guaranteed to win. (TMZ)

Unnamed sources initially shared mixed reasons to why X allegedly decided to not participate in the fight.

    One source said DMX pulled out of the fight because his safety could not be guaranteed, while another claimed that the rapper backed out because Thunder Promotions refused his request to "fix" the fight. Sources stated that Thunder Promotions may pursue legal action against DMX. In the meantime another, a variety of popular rappers have been contacted to stand up to Eric Martinez during the fight and that a replacement for DMX could be announced as early as next week. X previously spoke on his anticipation to fight at the event during a radio interview last month.

    "We got a phone call asking if I wanted to participate in it," X said about how the opportunity presented itself. "I'm just gonna walk in as it is man, you know what I mean? It wouldn't be fair if I trained. I think it's three two-minute rounds...[My opponent] is shorter than me and I think he weighs a little more than me. I'm 175, six feet. I got a little build on me, you know what I'm saying? I've seen him, yeah I've seen him.
