yea how can you say its alright for rapppers to sample old songs but not for rnb artists? like trauma said, most of the biggest and best and greatest rap songs are sampled so you cant say its ok for them to do that and not for rnb singers

Mariah's just looking for some hits man...The last time she had a big hit was like 3 or 4 years ago with that song with Jay-z...Anyway she's always sampled and worked with rappers, Puffy, ODB, Snoop, Bone Thugs, Jay-z, Mobb Deep etc...

just to get some recognition, cause they aint makin any hits no more !

da good producers in da rap game are samplin shit from the 60-80s

yea it's ok to sample a song from back n da days that the people dont know in this time ...but it's not ok to take the same beat that was used just f.e. 2 years ago

yea right. its probably more expensive to get the rights for the songs than make your own beats. hell even those internet mcs on this board can make dope beatz so dont blame the money for this.

my problem :

rnb cats are samplin tracks that are only up to 5 years old...
tracks that were sampled before ( no prob wit dat )
but they just usin that sample cause they know
that shit was heat 5 years ago, wit rap vocals...

i see nuthin good in samplin, when you're usin about 5 different samples, from da last 5 years ( beatnus, la the darkman etc ) in just 1 song : j lo
