How come people see religion & beliefs as opinions?

When you are a believer in something....anything will be evidence to you. Because you want it to be. Just like the court analogy that was used. If I WANT someone to be guilty...it doesnt matter if they are or not...I can convince myself through "evidence" that they are. The entire rest of the world might think Im a nut....but if I believe it, it doesnt matter. I can prove it to myself. Every so odd years they find a piece of wood in the desert and claim its evidence of Noahs Ark LOL. Some lady found evidence of Jesus in her potato chip. Hell....Elvis is still fuckin alive, and Tupac might have JUST died in Haiti. In order for evidence to prove something fact, there is no reasonable doubt whatsoever.
Anyways, again. My big issue is the close-mindedness that so many religious folks suffer from that makes them believe that they KNOW for a fact that god is real, that theyre religion is the right one, and that everyone else is wrong. Thats plain ignorance. I never claim to know for SURE that god doesnt exist. Cus none of us know. I just chose to not believe in a god that cant be proven to exist by anyone. At that point its just blind faith to me. And I chose not to be blind.
Regardless...Im sure we can just agree to disagree....yet again lol As this shit is gonna go nowhere

So in other words..your faith is like a "get outta jail free" card for you. You honestly think that's a good enough reason to believe?. Trust me when I tell you this but the reasons for not believing in this bullshit far outweigh the ones that tell you to believe.

You think I never had doubts or questions?? I mean I did but I came to the conclusion, life is far too unexplained and etc. and the more I see ya'll wit these beliefs the deeper mines becomes. Outta curiosity, is the only reason you choose not to believe is becuz you can't 'see' him?

Or is it the theory of evolution? Cuz you got people who still believe in God regardless.

if you'd keep an open mind you would understand. you're not asking all the questions my nigga. the theory of evolution is definitely something that sounds reasonable and it's not even a theory. we know for a fact that species evolve. we don't know anything about this god business. NADA.

this right here is the exact reason I think people believe in any particular religion. This basically sums it up. Fear. They are too afraid to NOT believe it. Thats terrible.

exactly, there are things we cant explain, thats why people find comfort in god. it goes back to the whole fear/security thing. its far too simple to say "god did it" or "its gods will". life is never simple, so why should the explanations be so simple?

exactly. im not worried about what happens to me when i die, im worried about my life RIGHT NOW. when we die, we die. why are people afraid to accept that?
