My point still stands. I stick by it. He should never be given the captaincy. Its total hypocrisy to take it from Terry then give it to a player with an even worse track record on the pitch.

So n, you're not right. You may have guessed the captaincy correctly but you're not right at al.l Its laughable Rio has been given it and makes a mockery of the accolade.

well, I think it doesn't matter who'll be the new captain, it's not like England wins the tournament now... It's not that you brits don't have other things to worry about  :whistle:

PS:  Gerrard should be captain.

the reason Ferdinand is captain is because when Capello was hired as England manager he selected three captains. The first choice: John Terry, a second choice: Rio Ferdinand, and a third choice: which was never revealed to the media.

based on recent injuries and form Rio will be lucky to get a starting place. our captain will most likely be the third choice (probably Gerrard).
