The NY Knickerbockers
« on: February 19, 2010, 05:29:21 PM »
if mcgrady takes a paycut like he says he is and they land 2 all stars ( 1 big, 1 g/f)  thatll make em a championship contender

Bigs: Bosh, Stoudimare

G/F: Wade, Lebron

they can land 2 superstars with the addition of mcgrady,

pretty crazy.

yeah they have a huge cap space but it's not easy to basically rebuild a whole roster from scratch (only 3 players still will be under contract as of 7/1/10)

I doubt that any superstar is going to sign with the Knicks if at that time he has no guarantee of having strong help around him

the Knicks as a organisation has been a joke for 10 years , a town like NY needs a great team , the NBA needs it too , but at the end they're going to fuck it up and still will suck

they played pretty well tonight and mcgrady came out playing awesome, hopefully they can keep it up

getting mcgrady then landing 2 of the major free agents in the off season will make them a scary team

i don't know if T-Mac will resign at seasons end; i don't know if the Knicks will even offer him a contract.

if he starts tearing it up, he'll be looking for the bucks in the offseason.

Donnie Walsh said pre-game the Knicks are looking for two "top" players; he said, he's looking for the best team he can form, he's not concerned about individual names; meaning, he "claims" his eyes aren't on LeBron, but maybe Amare, Bosh or Wade.

bucks? lol hell no, y would mcgrady go to the bucks when its known that he wants to sign the vets min to go to the championship contender.

vets min doesnt effect the salary so i wouldnt see a reason why knicks wouldnt offer him a vets min deal, for mcgrady? thats way too good to be true.

they "claim" that they arnt but if they sign  bosh or amare, and they have mcgrady on the vets min and givin that the rest of the team isnt sorry, than i believe lebron has a veyr high chance of coming to NYK becase Lebron (or wade), Bosh (or amare), with tmac already makes them one of the top 5 in the east.

the thing is the knicks dont get a team that can be or is better than the cavaliers y would he leave? in that case y would he leave to the knicks? thats why im sure their gonna try to lure bosh or amare first before they get lebron.

but id really think bosh and wade would have more chances of leaving their teams, beacuse their teams arnt playoff material.

^LOL, i didn't mean the team the Bucks; i mean, he'll be looking for money if he plays good.

T-Mac is looking to win, but if he finishes the rest of the reason averaging 25 ppg & is showing shades of his old self; he's only 29, he's got some years left in him; he's going to get paid on a winning team.

if the Knicks sign two major all-stars; like LeBron, Wade, Bosh or Amare, i don't know if they will be able to afford T-Mac.

it's not like they would need T-Mac if they got two of the four guys i mentioned, but T-Mac is a nice fit anywhere.

if LeBron wins or even if he gets to the Finals, i don't see him leaving, unless it's to team up with Wade or Bosh.

Wade's as good as gone unless they can sign a big name for him.

& Amare & Bosh, in my mind, are going to follow Wade & LeBron.

it's a shame though that everybody is so money hungry, like the millions they make aren't enough to set them for life; endorsements pays LeBron more than the Cavs do lol; but if they weren't money hungry & the four of them played together for five million a piece; they could win legit, the next eight years in a row; but you watch, there is a good chance all four of these names end up in different places because of money. :-\

T-Mac is Willing to take the vets minimum for any championship contender or a knicks team with 2 superstars. hes not going for money, said this himself.

and the vets min doesnt count in the salary cap.

Yes they make more in a year then most people do in a lifetime, but they can only get paid until their 40 (if they are lucky). The money they make now, has to last them around 30 years after they play. In those 30 years, they still want to a very well off life, so they try to earn as much possible now while they still can. And if I were one of them I wouldn't want to play with the other 3 together. It would take any and all competition away, and they'd be playing for nothing. There would be no challenge, since they know they are going to win. That's not the heart of a competitor. If you were playing on the playground, would you want all the best players and beat everyone by 30 points or would you want the teams to be a little more even and make it a challenge?

i know what you're sayin'; & on the playground, i like to keep things close but in the back of my mind know that i'm going to win. :P

but if they are serious about winning as they say, they might as well do what's nessessary.

it would be a team that would that people will remember until the end of time as the greatest team ever.

it would ruin the NBA though lol.

NY got the Yankees they can't have everything now >:(  They're the no.1 team in that city not the Bricks.  In the 80's the NBA was better & the Bricks were not much of a factor then.  Tired of certain media idiots acting like they're more of a storied franchise than even the Lakers & Celtics combined.  Shoot, the Bulls during the Jordan years were more of a storied franchise than the Bricks.  Yeah they had the early 70's.
