First off, I hate to sound like a bigger conspiracy theorist but Oswald did not kill Kennedy. It's nice for numbers, but there is not way he did it, at least alone.

Now that I'm done with that.

The congress election year, that's pretty good, though Lincoln only served one term and went back to Illinois politics, Kennedy stayed in the congress, first the House then the Senate, until he was president.

Other presidents elected in a zero year got killed as well, James Garfield and William McKinley. That was a rumored Indian curse to last 100 years, but if you count all the dead presidents it lasted 120 years.

Lincoln may have cared about slavery, but it wasn't a priority of his presidency, Kennedy may have cared about civil rights, but he didn't want the nation to blow apart because of it. Well both may have cared about it, it wasn't part of their presidencies. This gets over blown about in both.

Shot in the head, it's a good place to kill someone you want to make sure dies, or at least can't recover to lead any more. One thing you miss to make this less threatening, Lincoln was shot in his second term after 5 years, Kennedy only in his first term after only 2 years, 10 months.

Unless you are talking about personal secretaries, the secretary fact is actually fiction.

It's obvious why both were killed by southerners, it also obvious why both thought having a southerner on their ticket would make them politically more appealing.
Their birth year was also pretty impressive.

Lincoln was rumored to have loved the theater, and Ford theater was one of his favorites. Killing an American in a Ford car in the 1960's would too easy. Coincidence that it was a Ford, but it would either be a Ford Lincoln or a Cadillac. Both were the high class luxury car of their time. Of course Ford would name their car after a great president. Notice that both Ford and GM tried to go with really American names. GM even used Native American tribes to name their cars. Ford went with themes that fit what they thought Americana is. And the president should drive a car named after a president.

Both Lincoln and Kennedy had enough fans, that someone would killed them before their trail.
