^ But Street Life wasn't intended for the Makaveli album.

You're correct. It was intended for Gridlock'd and/or Doggfather correct?

In the Gridlock'd interview (where he mentions the "rose that grew from the concrete" metaphor, Pac said it was for the soundtrack, but I suppose after Pac died, Snoop and Suge were considering putting it on Tha Doggfather.

I'll probably catch heat for this, but I would have probably preferred it if they had kept all 3 of those songs off the album.  And if they took off "Toss It Up" as well.  Don't get me wrong, I like all of those songs.  But they all seem out of place on there to me.  The rest of Makaveli seems like a pretty dark album, and the inclusion of "Toss It Up" and "Just Like Daddy" seem almost too up-beat for that album.  But I don't think "Niggaz Nature" or "Friends" would have been exactly the right fit either.
Overall, it's a pretty great album, anyway.  So I guess if I had to pick  one of those three, I'd opt to leave "Just Like Daddy" on there as it's probably a better fit than "Niggaz Nature" or "Friendz."  But again, I'm not sure why any of those songs were originally picked, because to me, none of them seem to quite fit the tone of the rest of the album.  Just my opinion.

I think the main reason Toss It Up is on there is cause suge wanted the jab at dre

This thread made me listen to the album, which I haven't listened to its entirety in a long ass time.  What a great album.  Everything about it.  Straight classic.  Anyone in the industry who reads this forum, take notes from this album, mixing, production, rapping, everything.

Just like Daddy is actually one of my favorite songs on the album.

I think Who Do You Believe In would have fit pretty good on this album.

Not just that, but Pac even mentioned it himself.  Listen to this at around the ten-minute mark, where Pac is asked about the soundtrack, which was to include "Never Leave Me Alone" (Nate/Snoop), a song by Chelle, "Street Life" (Snoop/Pac):

Real quick just for reference... can someone post the OG Makavelli track listing? If it exists, that is.

I heard Never Call U Bitch Again was intended for Makavelli.... that's one of my top 5 favorite Pac songs. I would have put that on there.... but then again idk if it fits the mood.

Happy Home is another one of my top 5 pac songs but again, idk if it fits the mood.

I guess Watch Ya Mouth is just too similar content wise to Bomb First. And the OG beat from the phone rip doesn't sound dark enough to really fit the lyrics.

toss it up needs to be on there. it is the prototypical 90's party song. and the beat on it is MUCH better than the no diggity beat.

Life's so hard OG would have been PERFECT for the album. i mean perfect. but i dont believe it was recorded for Makavelli.

This is why iTunes exists. All you have to do is create what you consider to be a perfect 2pac album (as a playlist or album) and rock out to it. all of us already have these songs.... so it really just comes down to clicking and dragging, lol.

oh and Never Had a friend like me would have been perfect for the album. just throwin that in, lol.

you ask me:                              *^^^^funny i was just doing that too*

1. "Intro/Bomb First (My Second Reply)" (featuring E.D.I. Mean and Young Noble) – 4:56

2. "Hail Mary" (featuring Kastro, Young Noble, Yaki Kadafi, and Prince Ital Joe) – 5:09
w/"Immortal" on the CD-Single  ;)

3. "Toss It Up" (featuring Danny Boy, K-Ci & JoJo, and Aaron Hall) – 5:06
i never really liked it but Pac would have to throw something on there for the club, i cant really think of anything else.
w/ Never Call U Bitch Again on the Single

4. "To Live & Die in L.A." (featuring Val Young) – 4:33
w/"Untouchable (The Original Freestyle Version)" on the Single, cut at 1:35 and then have the instrumental fade it out til 1:41

I guess my ultimate makavelli album would look like this:

Bomb First, Hail Mary, Toss it Up, Live and Die in LA (this sequence is perfect and should be untouched), but then I'd go into Never had a friend like me, lifes so hard, just like daddy, Happy Home, Never Call U bitch again, krazy, white man's world, tear drops and closed caskets, you can be touched, hold ya head, letter 2 my unborn child.

that's the best one i can think of off the top of my head. i believe letter 2 my unborn child was recorded for all eyez on me.... but let's face it, one can observe from the manic anxiety and urgency of the album that this is his "i'm about to die" album, so letter 2 my unborn would have been a great song to end it with... QD3 said that most of the still I rise songs were recorded in teh same sessions, and i can see some of them fitting here...
