Might as well experience as much as I can before I drop dead from drinking soda once a week (since drinking less soda seems to kill people more often than when you drink it regularly).

It pretty much is. Only difference is there's slightly more fructose in high fructose corn syrup compared to sucrose (table sugar).
The higher amount of fructose MAY have something to do with the onset of diabetes, but the jury is still out on that shit.
