ah   i can't say i remember hearing that Seattle offered him a deal - my B on that

i thought he  went into FA and seattle was like "Fuck him we'll go after this ichiro nigga"

Haha nah man, he was our franchise player, we were coming off an ALCS appearance so of course we offered him a good contract. Ichiro is the man but he's no Aroid replacement.

didn't Seattle trade that Griffey guy? ;)

and they traded that Randy Johnson cat too :D

and they let that A-rod nigga go to free agency

atleast they kept Ichiro

Let A Rod go? We offered him a multi year deal paying over 20 mill a year but he chose to go to Texas for what was the largest contract in history, it's not like we didn't try to keep him.
I didn't hear that they offered A-fraud that much.  I just remembered that he said he wanted to go to a team that can beat the Yankees.  But he went to a team that always got their butts kicked by the Yankees instead.  And MLB hates it when players lie, they shoulda punished him 4 saying that.  Years later he was on the Yankees also.

The Red Sox traded Babe Ruth for 100,000 dollars. That's gotta be the worst all time for any franchise.

I just read that the Yanks offered the 100k while the White Sox offered Shoeless Joe and 60k. My guess is the writing was on the wall for the '19 White Sox otherwise what's 40k less for Shoeless Joe Jackson? Imagine they had traded Ruth for Jackson the year before. Both of their careers could have been greatly altered forever.

It had nothing to do with the black sox scandal.  The owner of the Sox wasn't really a Baseball fan.  His love was broadway plays.  He wanted cash to fund a new play and thats why he sold Babe for 100K instead of 60k and Shoeless Joe.

Griffey wanted out and RJ was a free agent who let it be known he didn't want to stay in Seattle so they traded him too.  Hack your mother should swallowed you.

Nolan Ryan for Jim Fregosi... though in all fairness Nolan Ryan has stated he would of retired if he wasn't traded out of NY.  He was a country boy that hated the big city.
Tom Seaver for Doug Flynn, Steve Henderson, Dan Norman and Pat Zachry.
Lenny Dykstra for Juan Samual
Scott Kazmir for Victor Zambrano
