Halladay is hands down the best pitcher in baseball and has been for a long time.

Propz on posting this.  Again, Lincy has been the best pitcher in the majors the last 2 years no doubt

Look at the cgs, innings, bbs hallady is much better in that regards. And put up halladays stats from the last 8 seasons and find one pitcher that has better numbers and as consistent.Lets see lincy have halladays long consistency and tell me whos the better pitcher.Their numbers the last two seasons arent far off from eachother but when you add in what halladay has done the last decade and this current season, hands down halladay is the best pitcher in baseball.

More bats miss the ball with Lincy on the mound but Doc lets less batters reach base.  Lincy has the better ERA and lower H/9 and HR/9 rates, while Doc will give you more innings and CG games giving the bullpen a rest.  Both have outstanding stats and each guy is a little stronger in difference areas, but one thing I would take into consideration is the quality of the opponents, the NL West is no AL East.

He has dominated everyone he has ever faved.  I cant wait until end of the season when Lincy finishes with the better year, I will definitely bring this thread back up.

the Dodgers are a tough lineup, but the rest of the NL West is trash.

Doc hasn't gotten off to this good a start in his entire career & it's just coincidental it's his first year in the NL? you HAVE to give Doc some sort of "degree of difficulty" points for pitching against the two best lineups in Baseball.

i love Lincy more than any pitcher in the league, including the Yankees staff lol; but i'm not going to say he's "hands down" the best in the league.

After Lincy's domination of the Cards tonight, he's 4-0 with a 1.00 era.  Doc 4-0 with 0.82 era, its gonna be a great Cy Young race this year

But adjusted ERA takes that into consideration and Lincy has Halladay on that one.

I guess so, I stand corrected but I'm not a huge fan of how they calculate ERA+.  If the quality of other pitchers in the NL is worse than the ERA+ of a good pitcher's ERA+ in that league would benefit from it.  I just don't think that if the league's ERA is high that it necessarily means the hitters in the league are really good, could just be shitty pitchers.
