Traditionally, the music industry, especially in the US, has a strong dichotomy in terms of cultural centers. There is the world of pop, hip-hop, R&B and rock, centered in New York and LA and then there is the world of Country music based in Nashville. These two worlds seem to exist as separate entities, only joining for the occasional awards show debacle. All that is about to chance with the introduction of up and coming artist Jessta James. Transplanted from rural Montana to Los Angeles he's crafted a unique style dubbed "hick-hop", which he hopes will inject new life into hip-hop and the music industry as a whole. He's slowly building his team and his momentum and he has a few very high profile collaborations and moves in the works. Before you make any judgments based on your preconceived notions of country music, keep an open mind check out his music, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the fusion of styles and his fidelity to the hip-hop sound and culture.
