the same teams were still there in the end.

the only teams that ever had a chance were the Lakers, Celtics, Magic & Cavs & "shockingly" enough, three of those four made it to the Conference Finals; even though only two of the three from East could of made it lol.

most predictable sport ever lol.

So what yall niggas is complaining about is the issue that in NBA basketball the better teams actually win? You see it as a problem that a team of scrubs ain't winning the championship all the time?
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

LOL, seriously. Basketball is actually respected as a sport because the best teams typically win, and that's the way they like it.

Considering they were the higher seed how is that surprising? ???

It was still considered surprising. A majority of ESPN analysts who picked the series winners, had the Spurs winning the series. Suns/ Spurs is the kind of series where most people were thinking the Spurs just had such a mental edge over the Suns...that regardless of seeds, the Spurs would beat them. Also, the difference between the 3rd and 7th seed this year in the West was like what...3 games or so?

everyone said that it was going to be the Lakers, Celitcs, Magic or Cavs in the Final.

& it was those who were competing; besides the Suns.

do a nationwide poll of who people think will be in the World Series & the Superbowl & i can guarentee the rate of predicting it right would be a good 30-40 points lower than guessing whose going to be in the NBA Finals.

I think the reason it's easy to predict the NBA is because basketball has only 5 players, and the best players have a much bigger role than other sports. In baseball, you may have Barry Bonds, but who's to say your pitchers and other batters will do him justice, in the NFL you may have Peyton Manning, but who's to say his line will protect him and the defense will hold up. In the NBA it's easier for Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen to will their team to victory. Now you do need to depend on teammates, ask LeBron James, but the star player in the NBA has a more important role than stars in other sports. Of course the light shines brighter on them sometimes, and star players in the NBA get judged more on titles, fairly or not, then other sports.

In turn though, it is easier to see Kobe and Gasol on a roster, and see that they have the advantage over Amare and Nash. Plus the longer playoffs favor the better teams, and the NBA wants to make sure it's best players are the ones in the finals, because it is more marketable to have Lakers/Celtics or Cavs than to have the Suns/Magic. Maybe hardcore basketball fans will like that, but most fans tuned into see Jordan in the finals every year in the 90's, and continue to watch the Lakers now. Teams like the Spurs drew the low ratings, but many true NBA fans loved to see Duncan's teams win the NBA Finals. But the lowest ratings in the NBA Finals were the Spurs/Nets and the Spurs/Cavs. The highest ratings this decade were all 5 Lakers finals. So the design of the NBA finals is to make sure a team like the Lakers make the finals, and not a scrappy team like the Suns.
