It's a bit unfair to call it a simple sport, especially in this era of tactics and game changing players that have come around the last decade. You can really only tell during corner kicks of diagonal free kicks, but on a deeper level it takes being a fairly big fan to know what's up. NFL is full of strategy, because it's a series of set plays. Imagine football where it's a series of corner kicks lol.

^yeah, really.you're rooting for a team & the team's success; not how they get it done, just if they get it done.

If you break down the object in every sport, it's all simple isn't it? I guess you're just talking about the objectives and I was referring more to strategy/formation/tactics/etc used.

In the World Cup, I'm only really rooting for Mexico, U.S., and Spain (I got them in a draw, so money reasons here lol). And I'm pretty sure we've all watched sports games where we're just watching to enjoy the game?
Denmark vs Cameroon was the first decent game of this WC.
Heres what I will give the World Cup. The National Pride that comes along with the event is cool. Plus the fact that you get the feeling there are a lot of different teams that could ACTUALLY win it. Basketball in the Olympics is kind of the same, but you dont really feel that there are that many teams that can win (really just the U.S.). Not to mention...the Olympics are pretty fuckin gay. The Winter Olympics are more gay...but yeah.

There participate many weak teams, and many argue that the Eupean cup with 16 teams offers more quality (which is true in some way), but I like it that there are 32 teams from all over the world and I can enjoy the exotic teams as well.
