And thirdly, I may be a Canadian citizen (who actually cheers for Russia in Hockey because I like their style of play), but both my parents were born and raised in Greece.

I meant the ancient past. Not the obvious recent past of the German players, the ones that actually are German anyway. Poland should actually have a decent team if they were allowed to keep their players. Maybe the old Schweinsteigers of the death camps madea deal with the Poles they were killing. For every German player with foreign roots, there are 10 players who are raised and learn the game in Germany, then play for other countries they only know from vacations.
