Amar'e Stoudemire is making progress on a five-year, max contract with the Knicks, according to sources. The two sides have the framework of a deal in place.

Stoudemire played for New York head coach Mike D'Antoni through the 07-08 season.

If the Knicks sign a maximum-salary contract with Stoudemire, the team would still possess a second max slot to offer another free agent.

Wonder if it will sway the King.

Consolation prize... Bosh, Yao and Dirk are better.

Well, at least a Top 10 FA is changing teams finally. I'm tired of this "staying put for a max deal" bullshit.

I can see them landing one more guy; none of the huge names, but a pretty decent name; but in the end it won't help.

They will forever suck.

I still say Carmelo becomes a Knick next year, or in a trade this year. It is his destiny, and it is the Knicks destiny to have second tier players with one great player (Carmelo) but never have the talent to ever win the title. An Amare/Carmelo duo is perfect for NY.

Only because he really wants to stick with the Rockets for some absurd reason. He could be available if he wanted to. Which means he might have been available if courted properly be the Knicks.
