If you understand the game of Basketball, Kobe was without a doubt Robin on the three peat Lakers. Shaq was the "most dominant" player in the game according to most, and EVERY Laker fan back then. There is no way you can have the "most dominant" player in the game as your bigman, and have him NOT be the focal point of your team. Shaq was the one drawing double and triple teams...not Kobe. Thats not the way an offense works. The ball goes to Shaq, he either scores quickly...or allows the double team to come, opening up the floor for outside shooters...or Kobe slashing to the hoop. Kobe was the benificiary of Shaq. Of course having Kobe, helped Shaq too. But the only people who really seem to question Kobe being the #2 on those teams, are current Laker fans who changed their tune about Shaq the minute he wasnt a Laker lol.

Yes, Kobe did draw double-teams back in those days, genius, and though Shaq was demanding and refused to play if the offense didn't run through him, Kobe held his own and was never considered "Robin"...The "Superman" and "Batman" analogy by BOX5 was dead on. While Shaq was considered the most dominant player during the threepeat era, Kobe was considered the greatest individual talent in the game, he was breaking records left and right on a team where he wasn't the focal point of the offense, and was being hailed by most as Michael Jordan's clear-cut successor. I dunno what your agenda against Kobe is...maybe it's the fact that without Kobe, Spurs would've been the team of the decade...but you clearly have something against the guy, and you don't do very much to disguise it. LOL.
