thatīs the worst thing to do unless you really can recreate the magic and i donīt recall anyone but raekwon doing that. not warren g , not these days. this just shows heīs out of ideas.
Dr. Dre and Nas?

That was a nice article about the original album.

I still remember back in 1994, being surprised when I saw the album in the movie/music store.  I didn't even know he had an album on the way, I just bought it off of name recognition, because I knew he was down with Snoop and Death Row; in fact I even thought it was a Death Row album...the labeling on it kind of confused me.

So then I started listening to it, and I thought maybe it wasn't a real album or something, like it was one of those Dr. Dre "Concrete Roots" type of albums that were floating around, some unauthorized shit.

Because the album didn't have that hardcore Death Row sound, I didn't get it at first.  Then slowly it grew on me and became my favorite for that summer and many summers to follow.  Still my favorite summer album of all time.

Nice to hear that "This DJ" charted so high back then, all the way to #9 on Billboard, I always liked that song even more than "Regulators".

Warren could take some tips from Raekwon - it IS possible to create a sequel to a classic album that holds its own against the original.

Then again, for every 'Cuban Linx II' there's a 'Blueprint 2'  :-\

I recommend ALL artist, especially the washed up ones, to NEVER claim your new album is part 2 of your classic album.

See what happens with it.. part of the problem with G-Files was a poor track selection and letting the weak guest artists take over the album. The unreleased leaks from that time period were a lot better than the album tracks.

If he will come back with the dope beats and some confidence he'll be able to sell some albums again.

So i'm the second! I'm looking forward to this and i think that if he called it G-Funk era part 2, the only features would be Twinz, Snoop, DPG or Nate. I can see another dope duo with Nate.

G-Files wasn't that bad. Just too much useless guests but still some dope songs.

I really think Warren G is gonna put a quality EP. I hope there will be some hardcopys too!

wow...yall always find something to bitch about...FUCK the name, its about the music..and if its what i think it is (i think hes finally taking peoples views and tastes into consideration, and is going do something right for his core fanbase, with actual g-funk beats and whatnot) then it should be sick....

at worst, call it Regulate : Back to Basics

and oh yeah, he needs sean "barney rubble" thomas back on the keys...

I like the G-Files a lot, and those that dismiss it as wack (apart from being a stupid comment) are missing out on the good tracks on it 8)

Lookin forward to this +1 :)
