What they really paid, is funds to an account directly into 2Pacs legal representation office to try their best to keep him out of prison and that if he should do that he would record further material for Death Row under stipulations. He never actually had that money in hand so to speak. It still amazes me to this day why people never question how Death Row were able to get 2Pac out of prison so easily because Death Row never actually paid the full $1.4 Million for his release. When Death Row paid that money for his legal fee's they were basically worming their way into getting him tied down to legal ropes way back then
