« on: December 15, 2002, 08:12:51 PM »
Ok i finally got "the gift of tha Row" ;D today and bought "Christmas on DeathRow". Now i can say that i own all official DeathRow Albums.
Ok back to the topic.

Above The Rim
Murder Was The Case
Christmas On Deathrow
Gridlock`d
Gang Related
Chronic 2000
Too Gangsta For Radio

I like all these compilations but I would take The "Murder Was The Case" Soundtrack.

No question... Murder Was The Case is the best, hands down. Second best would be Above The Rim.

I liked Murder Was The Case. It's automatic number 1, so lets see number 2... hum... do I hear Too Gangsta For Radio... hum... Crooked I - Death Rizzo was tight as fuck, and the 2 2Pac songs... hum... Above the Rim was nice, but too much R&B.

Hmmm... real close call between Murder Was The Case and Above The Rim.

Murder Was The Case has some classic Death Row joints. Natural Born Killaz, 21 Jumpstreet, What Would U Do, Dollaz & Sense and Who Got That Gangsta Shit are all amazing, and when you listen back to the album today and realise that they all came from one CD it's pretty unbelievable.

But then Above The Rim has its classics too. Anything, Old Time's Sake, Big Pimpin', Dogg Pound 4 Life, and, of course... Pour Out a Little Liquor, Regulate and Afro Puffs (RAAAAAGE!).

I'm going with Above The Rim. It was way too fucking big at the time - one of the biggest urban music soundtracks ever, period. MWTC was dope as a Death Row showcase, but ATR had major hits from everyone from SWV to Aaron Hall.

Oh, and token mention goes to the underdog, Gang Related. That shit is waaaay too major. ("What's your faantasy, what's your faaantasy...")
